Research shows that gum disease and diabetes may affect one another. Gum disease can intensify the complications associated with diabetes, by increasing blood sugar levels. High blood sugars levels over an extended period of time are associated with premature degeneration of eyes, kidneys nerves and blood vessels. Studies have shown that people with Diabetes face a greater risk of developing oral infections and gum disease over those who do not have Diabetes. Good news is that the treatment of either diabetes or oral disease and infection can lead to improvements in each other. Dr. Reddy has the necessary training and experience to assess your oral health concerns, and to provide the treatment that best suits your needs.
